Kinetic Chain Release

Kinetic Chain Release has been devised and taught by the inspiring and wonderful Scottish Physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert. I am an Accredited Practitioner.

For many of us, our posture can be out of natural alignment, leading to aches, pains and stresses.
You may have had a serious fall as a child, been in an accident, had difficulties in childbirth, sporting injuries, wear and tear from working, leg length difference, or are simply aware you're not moving as naturally as usual, not standing straight and walking tall ....... all sorts of things impact the way we move.

When you have KCR, I work on releasing tension gently and safely from key joints throughout your body in a way which allows your body to return to its natural alignment, re-establishing balance and ease in your everyday movements. Comfort and freedom of movement are yours again!

Everyone is unique, as will be the outcomes for you. However, regular comments from clients include feeling freer joint movements, more energy, greater comfort and looseness in their body, lighter, taller, calmer and importantly diminished pain levels or complete relief of pain and muscle tension.

Energy levels are boosted as your body's systems are able to flow more freely and work more effectively, less restricted by tension that had built up from physical, mental, energetic or emotional life-stuff!

I trained with Hugh Gilbert, Scottish Physiotherapist who devised and taught this protocol with huge wisdom, integrity, intelligence and heart until his passing in April 2019. I continue to train with his teachers.

His vision was this:
"Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) seeks to unblock, harmonise and balance the physical body and its energies. Therefore our goal is not simply to focus on correcting or compensating for your physical conditions and circumstances, but also to restore and enhance the free flow of the life force within you. It is a tool which should belong to everyone, and one day will."  Hugh Gilbert

Connective Tissue Release

Having had KCR, CTR can then be a further approach to release any tension remaining in the Connective Tissue. Gently targeting specific areas, we seek to allow natural flow and flexibility to return to your movements.

Women's Health
I have specialised in this area to address conditions specific to women. If you have breast pain, lower abdominal pain or issues, difficulty breast-feeding or with periods, the techniques here can ease conditions caused when soft tissues are unusually tense. Please ask, I'd like to help.

Conditions which are regularly helped or resolved through KCR include:

Sometimes one session is enough. A short course of around 3 sessions often helps long-term issues. Regular maintenance sessions will then help keep you in balance and flexible. Your own body is the best guide and we're all unique!

CTR, where appropriate will be discussed and agreed, depending on your own needs.
